The start of the reign was a 5-13 season. Mistakes were made, fines were levied and there was reason to question the rookie general manager.
The next season was double the wins and likely double the talent as the Roughriders started building on a corps and attitude.
This off-season, Jones paid up for a quarterback. While Zach Collaros is nowhere close to being in the conversation with the elite quarterbacks of the league based on stats, he is 10-4 as the starter.
The defence landed more talent, to add to an already talented group and they’ve become the most exciting defence to watch in a long time.
Jones the general manager has also built Canadian depth at his starting positions, imperative for success in this league, with shrewd moves at the deadline as well.
Coach Jones hasn’t gotten better to build this team. Manager Jones has seen the most growth to lead Saskatchewan to a home playoff game.
