Above-seasonal temperatures in the Canora area — north of Yorkton — has caused the snow to melt rapidly creating some flooding.
The Water Security Agency said in a statement Wednesday some banks are overflowing and roads are flooded. Tributary flows are expected to be at or near peak levels now and should recede over the coming days.
The WSA is urging the public to be cautious when traveling in the Canora area during this time.
The statement added tributaries to the Whitesand River and Good Spirit Lake, including Spirit Creek and Crooked Hill Creek, are overflowing and creating localized flooding.
The WSA expects Good Spirit Lake to peak in early May and levels should remain lower than 2014. Some low lying areas around the lake could experience some flooding as early as next week.
