A group of Saskatoon artists will join forces Saturday to raise funds to support the families of Fort McMurray.
“We’ve got around 100 paintings. They’re all originals. They’re all from very well-known artists,” said local painter Hugo Alvarado.
The artwork will be sold in the Legacy Lounge parking lot on 8th Street from 10 – 4 p.m.
“Most of the people here in Saskatoon have a connection one way or another through a family or a friend,” Alvarado said.
His own son had to stay behind in Fort McMurray to work while his wife and six-month-old baby made the long journey to Saskatoon.
One hundred per cent of the sales will be donated to the Red Cross.
