Two people are dead after a fire west of Swift Current.
The RM of Swift Current #137 Fire Department said on its Facebook page it responded to two side-by-side mobile homes in flames Wednesday afternoon.
With help from the city’s fire department shuttling water to the scene, it took several hours for the fire to be extinguished.
Fire Chief Louis Cherpin said two sets of remains were found in the same trailer. While they know who lives on the property, the remains have been sent to Regina for DNA tests to confirm their identity.
The chief said the fire department is working hard to find a cause of the fire to provide closure for the family.
