Four people were able to escape a fire that ripped through a house on Royal Street at 10th Avenue on Saturday night.
Firefighters arrived at the blaze at 10 p.m., where the house was in smoke and flames.
Acting Deputy Fire Chief Neil Sundeen said an adult was able to evacuate with three children before calling 911. That person was treated for minor burns.
A pet cat was killed in the fire.
The fire was under control within half an hour. Resulting damage to the house was extensive.
Sundeen said the cause of the fire is being investigated.
