An inmate in the medium security unit at Saskatchewan Penitentiary has died.
According to Correctional Service Canada, Joseph Vincent Manitopyes, 31, was found unresponsive in his cell the night of July 19.
He was pronounced deceased at Victoria Hospital at roughly 10:35 p.m.
Manitopyes was serving a five year, seven month sentence for various charges, including attempted robbery, disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The Correctional Service of Canada is investigating the death.
