Areas of southwestern Sask. under severe thunderstorm watches, warnings

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area around Swift Current.

The warning also is in effect for areas around Herbert, Cabri, Kyle and Lucky Lake.

Swift Current is still recovering from a storm that rolled through the area Tuesday.

Environment Canada said the storm is capable of “producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and torrential rain.”

Meanwhile, severe thunderstorm watches are out for the areas around Leader, Gull Lake, Shaunavon, Maple Creek, Val Marie, Cypress Hills, Lloydminster, Kindersley, Rosetown, Biggar, Wilkie and Macklin.
