Around 11 on Tuesday morning police were called out to Lillooet St. E. for a report of a man beating a dog with a shovel. When officers got there they found the man was using a wooden broom, not a shovel.
He was arrested and is being charged with animal abuse. He was released for a later court date on the condition that he not be around any animals in the interim.
