Second-degree murder charge laid after Regina homicide

Regina police have charged a 49-year-old man with second-degree murder in connection with Regina’s fifth homicide of the year.

Morley Dean Whitequill of Regina faces the charge. He is set to make his first court appearance Wednesday morning.

Janice Elaine Whitequill was found dead Tuesday outside a home in the 1500 block of Cameron Street.

Police were sent to the area just after 4 a.m., on Tuesday after receiving a report of a body outside the home. A homicide investigation ensued, leading to Wednesday’s arrest.
