SaskPower says its crews have restored power to most areas in the southwest corner of the province after an outage that lasted about 90 minutes.
At around 6 p.m. on Monday, power went out in some areas around Leinan, East End, Swift Current, Climax, Herbert, Dollard, Val Marie, Stewart Valley, Consul and Maple Creek.
At around 7:30 p.m., SaskPower reported there had been a trip on a transmission line that locked out substations in three different locations. Those had been reconnected.
A SaskPower official wasn’t sure what caused the transmission line to trip.
Power was still off in the area of Bone Creek and Simmie, however. Just after 9 p.m., SaskPower said it hoped to have power in that region restored by midnight.
