A 14-year-old boy is facing six arson charges in connection with a series of fires in a bathroom at the Bay in the Cornwall Centre in recent weeks.
According to a media release from the Regina Police Service, officers responded to the mall on Thursday at about 4:30 p.m., after receiving a call that a boy had started a fire in a bathroom and then left.
Officers found the suspect on 11th Avenue and arrested him.
After further investigation, the boy was charged with five previous incidents of arson, which occurred in the same store between Dec. 10 and Dec. 16.
The teen, who can’t be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, made his first court appearance Friday afternoon. His case was adjourned to Tuesday.
