Emergency crews found more than flames after being called out to a house fire in North Central on the morning of New Year’s Eve.
Regina police said a man was found dead inside the home. Now, a death investigation has been launched.
The fire and police departments were called out around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to 1578 Cameron St. Once first responders went inside, they found the man and called in the major crimes unit, fire investigators, the forensic identification unit and the coroner.
Together, they’ll try to determine what happened and if there’s anything suspicious surrounding the man’s death. Police said his family has been told, but no age or identification has been released publicly.
An autopsy is set for next week.
