Police are investigating the death of an inmate who was found unresponsive in his cell on Dec. 27.
The Prince Albert Police Service Criminal Investigation Division and the coroner’s office are both investigating the death of the 31-year-old man at a provincial correctional centre in Prince Albert.
When the inmate was found, the man was transported to Victoria Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced deceased.
Police say while the investigation remains ongoing, foul play is not suspected.
