The province will be reducing the speed limit on a portion of Highway 46 east of Regina to address safety concerns.
The new speed limit will be 80 km/h from west of Prince of Wales Drive to the Pilot Butte Access Road. The province told 980 CJME the new limit will be in effect as early as Oct. 11.
In a news release, the province stated construction of the Regina Bypass on Highway 1 has resulted in higher traffic volumes and congestion on Highway 46.
The new speed limit is expected to be in place until construction is complete on the bypass.
