Three charged after components stolen from commercial trucks

A recent string of thefts of parts from heavy-duty trucks in Regina has led to charges against three men.

According to the Regina Police Service, components of the exhaust systems of 21 commercial trucks were stolen during the spree.

The thefts occurred Nov. 22 (1100 block of Albert Street, three vehicles), Dec. 1 (200 block of Solomon Drive, three vehicles), between Dec. 6 and 8 (600 block of Henderson Drive, one vehicle), Dec. 9 (700 block of Dethridge Bay, three vehicles), Dec. 12 (600 block of Park Street, one vehicle), Dec. 20 (200 block of Solomon Bay, one vehicle), between Dec. 22 and 27 (400 block of Hoffer Bay, one vehicle), between Dec. 24 and 27 (1200 block of First Avenue, five vehicles), and between Dec. 20 and Jan. 3 (1000 block of Albert Street, three vehicles).

On Jan. 4, the police’s Property Crimes Unit arrested two men in the maintenance yard of a business in the 1000 block of Albert Street. The men, ages 27 and 30, each are facing seven charges of theft over $5,000 and three charges of breaking, entering and committing theft.

A 32-year-old man was arrested Jan. 8 and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and trafficking in stolen property.
