RCMP and the File Hills Police Service are investigating a murder at a home on the Star Blanket Cree Nation on Friday night.
Mounties received a report of an altercation at a home around 8:35 p.m.
Officers from the File Hills Police Service responded and found a 17-year-old man dead inside the house. File Hills police requested the assistance from Saskatchewan RCMP.
The RCMP Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and continues to investigate. It was determined to be a murder and the man lived in the home where the incident occurred.
Due to the ongoing investigation, there will be an increased police presence on Saturday. Police say there is no risk to public safety.
An autopsy has been order for Feb. 4 in Saskatoon.
