The Regina Police Service believes fentanyl was at the root of a number of drug overdoses in the city over the weekend.
In a media release Monday, police said officers responded to 14 overdoses in a span of just over 50 hours. As well, the police service’s Communications Centre received other calls in which paramedics were dispatched to potential overdoses.
There haven’t been any deaths reported.
Police said the overdoses occurred between 1:30 p.m. on Friday and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. In three of the cases, police officers administered Naloxone to the patients.
