Fans are miffed that Chris Jones wasn’t thinking about them on Saturday night as Jake Waters made his debut in a strange quarterback rotation.
The thing is though, it isn’t about you. The Riders head coach is doing one thing and one thing only and that’s what he thinks is best for the Saskatchewan Roughriders to get out of this two and a half year funk the team has been in. Playing Jake Waters and getting some evaluation is a must for this team right now, so whether or not you wanted to send Taylor Field off in style with Darian Durant playing the full game.
And lets all ask, could Darian Durant have made that much of a difference if he played 100 per cent or the game rather than the 75 per cent?
Extremely unlikely.
Now, I do agree with the fans to a certain degree on many points. Darian Durant should have gotten this game for the farewell game. They’ve had more than enough opportunities in previous meaningless games to see Jake Waters. The rotation they used was abysmal. The on again, off again strategy through both QBs off their game. Or was that B.C.?
Either way, if evaluation is Chris Jones’ number one priority. It was an F on Saturday, from top to bottom.
