Saskatoon fire crews responded to a call of smoke filling a house in the RM of Corman Park Sunday night.
When they arrived, the lone occupant of the home had evacuated, but a cat was still inside.
Firefighters determined the fire was coming from the basement of the home, and they created an opening in the floor to attack the blaze.
During a secondary search of the house, they found the cat and gave it some oxygen, reviving the unconscious animal and reuniting it with its owner.
This area falls outside of the Saskatoon Fire Department’s investigative jurisdiction, so a cause and damage estimate is not available.
