A rather unpleasant smell filled the Cornwall Centre in downtown Regina Wednesday after a sewer back up.
General Manager of the mall, Doug Kozak, confirmed several retailers reported a smell of sewer gas around 11:30 a.m. Shortley after, back ups started to occur.
Kozak said a blockage in a sewer line along Saskatchewan Drive created the problem. Crews were dispatched to fix it.
Around 2 p.m, Kozak said crews were just about finished their work.
Kozak stated about six retailers were affected. Some were expected to reopen once the blockage was cleared, while the others would remain closed until the damage was fixed.
