UPDATE: SaskTel service restored in Regina-area communities

SaskTel restored service to several communities around Regina that lost Internet, wireless and home phone service Monday night.

The Crown corporation said at about 2 a.m. Tuesday, technicians finished repairs to a fibre cable.

The affected communities included Abernethy, Balcarres, Cupar, Dysart, Earl Grey, Fort Qu’Appelle, Lemberg, Lipton, Lumsden, Punnichy, Raymore, Regina Beach, Sask Beach, Semans, Southey and Strasbourg.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority said residents who needed to reach 911 should go to their nearest emergency department or physically contact the closest ambulance service.
