Saskatoon police used a taser during a late-night call on Tuesday.
Officers were sent to the Evergreen neighbourhood around 11 p.m. following reports of a man trying to hurt himself with a knife.
Police reported Wednesday morning that officers arriving on scene found the man harming himself. One of the officers reportedly used a taser to subdue the 36-year-old when he wouldn’t obey commands.
The man was taken into custody and brought to hospital. Police said the man didn’t suffer any injury from the taser, but required treatment for the wounds he inflicted on himself.
Police policy requires a review of any incident where a taser is used.
