A woman named to Forbes Magazine’s “30-under-30” list has a Saskatoon connection.
Alaa Murabit, 27, was raised in Saskatoon, where she graduated high school at 15.
From there, Murabit moved back to her home country of Libya to attend medical school.
Since then, she’s become an advocate for Libyan women and has become the only high-level UN commissioner under 45.
In a Facebook post, Murabit said she was honoured to be recognized.
