Police say an 11-year-old girl was struck by a driver using his cellphone on Saturday night near Third Avenue and Athol Street.
She was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators from the RPS Traffic Safety Unit say the driver, a 17-year-old boy, was using his cellphone when he hit the girl, who was crossing the street at a crosswalk.
The driver was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian at an intersection and driving without due care and attention.
