A 17-year-old boy has been found guilty of second-degree murder in connection with the death of a girl at a house party in Regina more than two years ago.
The youth, who was 15 at the time of the killing, was convicted Wednesday after a trial. He can’t be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
A date has not yet been set for a sentencing hearing.
On Oct. 14, 2018, police received a call about a weapons offence at a house in the 900 block of Cameron Street.
Officers and paramedics found an injured 16-year-old girl at the scene. Emergency medical treatment was provided but the girl was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the event led police to identify, locate and arrest the suspect.
