Regina is set to be rewarded after surviving a deep freeze, with temperatures expected to be well above normal for the coming week.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Ron Poala said temperatures could be 10 to 15 C above normal. He noted the city could break some records over the course of the week.
“Your best chance of breaking a record will be on Wednesday,” Poala said. “The record high is 4 C, and we’re saying a high of 5 C on Wednesday.”
He also warned people not to start celebrating the arrival of spring just yet.
“It’s possible we could get back into kind of a deep freeze for the beginning of February but that’s still a ways away.”
The warmer temperatures are expected to stay in Regina and across southern Saskatchewan for the week and into the weekend.
