Three Regina men have been charged with weapons-related offences after a Regina Police Service investigation into gun trafficking in the city.
The suspects, aged 33, 29 and 21, were arrested Tuesday after a police operation that involved the SWAT team.
According to police, officers focused their investigation on a man whom they believed had bought four restricted handguns.
On Tuesday, officers saw the suspect meet two other men. After the meeting, police arrested the first suspect at a house in the 3000 block of George Street. The other two suspects were arrested at a house in the 4100 block of Hillsdale Drive.
Search warrants executed on the suspects’ vehicles and the residence on Hillsdale turned up cash as well as four 9mm handguns.
All three men were charged with weapons trafficking. The 29-year-old faces five other weapons-related charges and the 21-year-old was charged with three other weapons offences.
They made their first court appearances Wednesday.
