A woman accused of stealing a taxi went straight to court Tuesday, before she was even arrested.
Regina police say the woman robbed a taxi driver of his vehicle in the area of Third Avenue and Angus Street just before 12:30 p.m.
Officers located the vehicle and used a spike belt to deflate its tires, but the suspect kept driving until she got to the 2400 block of Victoria Avenue.
There, the woman got out, ignored an officer’s command to stop and ran into the nearby courthouse. She was arrested inside.
The 30-year-old woman now faces charges arising from the theft of the cab. She’s also accused of trying to sell stolen property while in the taxi.
