A 12-year-old boy has been arrested by the Regina Police Service and charged with uttering threats.
On Friday, a school resource officer was told by a principal that a student at a school in the Al Ritchie neighbourhood had been threatened. Officers determined the victim wasn’t in danger and the suspect wasn’t at the school.
According to police, the threats had been made on social media “and included images of the suspect with what appeared to be a firearm.” The victim and suspect know each other.
Police found the suspect and arrested him, but a search of his home didn’t find any guns.
The 12-year-old can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He’s to appear in Youth Court on Monday.
