The Saskatchewan Roughriders added to their depth on the defensive line Tuesday.
The CFL team announced it had signed American defensive lineman Anthony Lanier II, a 6-foot-6, 285-pounder who spent the past five seasons in the NFL.
Lanier signed with Washington as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and played 15 career games with that club over the 2016 and ’17 seasons.
He then spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before stints in 2020 with the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints.
He had 10 tackles, six passes defended and five sacks in his NFL career.
Lanier played collegiately at Alabama A&M, where he also suited up for the Bulldogs’ basketball team.
