A call to the Moose Jaw Police Service for a man refusing to wear a mask at a local grocery store quickly escalated to the point where an officer was allegedly assaulted.
Police received the call around 11:45 a.m. on Friday after staff at the store had asked the man to leave. When he was approached by officers, police say “an altercation ensued.”
The 59-year-old man was not named by police. He has been charged with assaulting a police officer, obstruction and causing a disturbance, and received a ticket under the public health order.
