SodaStream has issued a recall for certain types of bottles used in its home soda and seltzer-making machines.
The company reported there is a manufacturing defect in its one-litre, dishwasher-safe bottles marked with April 2020 expiry dates.
The defect reportedly causes a risk that the bottles might rupture under pressure.
To date, no bottles have actually exploded in either the U.S. or Canada, but SodaStream is still urging customers who purchased one of the bottles to send it back for a refund.
About 7,600 of the affected bottles have been sold in Canada.
People can contact SodaStream customer support at 1-866-299-8426 or visit the company’s website for more information on how to return the bottles.
