Indian Head RCMP was called to a “serious motor vehicle collision” on Friday night just east of Qu’Appelle.
Mounties were sent to the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 35 at about 9:50 p.m.
A news release says the crash was between a semi and a pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 74-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene. There were no other injuries.
“Initial investigation indicates the eastbound semi and northbound pickup collided, resulting in both vehicles leaving the roadway and coming to rest in the ditch south of Highway #1,” the release says.
Eastbound traffic was diverted for a while but has since been reopened.
