The Tampa Bay Buccaneers open the NFL season as a Super Bowl favourite, and why not? Not much has changed for the Bucs since they went on their run last year and dominated the Kansas City Chiefs, while Tom Brady got sized for a seventh ring.
It’ll be easy to say a rematch is in the works but I hate going with the betting favourites. But I am going with the next two on the list, the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams.
The Bills’ Josh Allen was a monster performer last year and should only get better with improved weapons around him and a defence that should still be ranked in the top 10. The Bills are a team that should learn from their AFC Championship loss last year. They were up early but saw the Chiefs storm back.
Then there’s the Rams, who are a few years separated from losing to Brady in the Super Bowl, but now have Matt Stafford at quarterback, who is free from the Detroit Lions franchise of failure.
Stafford is an upgrade over Jared Goff and with another top defence, the Rams will be trouble in the NFC.
So my Super Bowl pick? The Rams over the Bills.
