Some Grade 3 students at Ecole Elsie Mironuck Community School will be learning from home starting Thursday after multiple cases of COVID-19 were identified in their classroom.
Regina Public Schools said in a release the classroom was closed Wednesday. Students are to learn remotely from Thursday until Oct. 1 and are to return to the school in the Regent Park neighbourhood on Oct. 4 if they don’t have symptoms.
Parents are to hear from their child’s teacher with more details for remote learning.
It’s the second time this week a public school has closed classrooms due to COVID cases. On Tuesday, Henry Janzen School moved to remote learning in a number of classes after multiple cases were reported.
The public division also said two cases had been identified at Judge Bryant School, with single cases reported at each of Henry Janzen School, Plainsview School, Walker School, Wilfred Hunt School, Balfour Collegiate and Martin Collegiate
The Regina Catholic School Division also reported two more cases, with one at St. Gabriel School and one at Sacred Heart Community School. Close contacts received a letter from public health outlining quarantining requirements.
