Three more people have been charged in connection with the death of a man from the Big River First Nation in 2020.
Richard Netmaker, 36, was reportedly abducted from his home on Jan. 6, 2020, and assaulted. Police searched for the man and an investigation determined Netmaker had been last seen in an isolated area northwest of his community.
His body was found in a rural area near Pekakumew Lake four days later.
In July of this year, a woman from the Big River First Nation was charged with one count of criminal negligence causing death and two counts of forcible confinement.
On Friday, the RCMP announced three others — a 30-year-old man from the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation, a 34-year-old woman from the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation and a 26-year-old man from the Big River First Nation — are facing the same charges.
They’re to return to court this month.
