The man found dead after a house fire Thursday on Cameron Street was the victim of a homicide.
Police said in a news release they were called to a home on Cameron, near Eighth Avenue, just before 11 a.m. Thursday.
Officers went along with members of the fire department, who quickly extinguished the blaze.
While searching through the home, firefighters discovered a dead person. Further investigation by police determined the man had been murdered.
Investigators have identified the man and have notified his next of kin. The man’s identity wasn’t released by police.
