D’Arcy Glover keeps beating the odds.
In July of 2018, the Dalmeny man won a $1-million Maxmillions prize in a Lotto Max draw. Then, on May 27, he won $1 million on the May 27 Western Max draw.
According to Saskatchewan Lotteries, the odds of winning the Western Max $1-million prize and a Lotto Max Maxmillions prize are each one in 33,294,800.
“It’s a really good feeling!” Glover said in a Sask Lotteries media release. “This time around, it’s probably more of a good feeling because — as much as it’s a cliche — ‘What are the odds?!’ ”
Glover said he usually stays up late to check his lottery tickets, but chose this time to go to bed early on the night of the draw.
“I woke up at 3 a.m. and thought I should check my tickets since I was already up,” he said. “This was the first one I checked.”
He then ran into his bedroom, woke up his wife and told her he thought he had won again.
Glover said he doesn’t have any plans for his winnings, noting: “I don’t think much will change.”
Glover’s numbers of 1, 3, 6, 30, 34, 36 and 39 earned him one of the 14 $1-million prizes up for grabs. He also won $10 by matching the last two numbers on the Extra.
