Following a brief chase, the Regina Police Service arrested a 36-year-old man from Ontario in relation to drug trafficking in the city.
On Thursday, police attempted to arrest the suspect after an investigation, but the man fled on foot.
With help from the canine unit, the 36-year-old man was apprehended a short time after he ran off.
Officers ended up seizing around 200 grams of fentanyl, $2,500, multiple pieces of fake identification and two cellphones.
The suspect is facing a handful of charges including possessing fentanyl with the purpose of trafficking.
His first court appearance was on Friday.
