Environment Canada confirmed that 16 heat records were broken across the province on Wednesday afternoon.
Saskatoon reached 34.5 C. The previous record of 33.5 C was set in 2011.
Regina hit 35 C to surpass the old record of 33.3 C set in 1906.
Val Marie was the Canadian hot spot at 38.9 C, which was not a record.
Thursday will see a return to more normal conditions for the next couple of days.
