RCMP officers responded Wednesday morning to an assault at North Battleford Composite High School, which was locked down in the afternoon.
According to the RCMP, one person is reportedly hurt, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
“There is an increased police presence in the area of the school, which has enacted its Safe Plan,” the RCMP said in a statement. “We will provide an update with more information as soon as we are able.”
Police said the public will be notified of any safety risk.
Two ambulances were seen outside the school at around 12:30 p.m., and students were exiting the building in groups, escorted by staff.
