A man in his 20s is facing a handful of charges after a woman and small child were physically dragged out of a restaurant in north Regina on Monday morning.
Police said it happened around 5:30 a.m., at a restaurant in the 400 block of Albert Street North.
Officers were called about the assault and tracked the group to a nearby apartment. Police say the woman opened up the door and asked for help; she’d allegedly been hurt in an assault, but the child didn’t appear to have been physically hurt.
A 23-year-old man from Regina was arrested. Police said he cannot be identified as it could identify the victims.
Police said the man was on a no-contact order with the woman as part of a release order, and he had allegedly threatened to hurt her if she called for police.
The man is being charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, and failure to comply with conditions.
