Statistics Canada says the employment rate in Saskatchewan grew by 1.1 per cent over the last month.
It followed a trend nationally which saw Canada’s employment rate grow by 0.6 per cent in October as the economy added 108,000 jobs and reversed many of the losses from recent months.
According to Statistics Canada, the sectors that gained the most employees were manufacturing, construction, accommodation and food services.
The number of Canadians looking for work held steady at 5.2 per cent. In comparison, Saskatchewan’s unemployment grew slightly by half a percentage point to 4.6 per cent.
