A Waldheim man accused of abusing residents at a care home in Hepburn has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced this fall.
According to court records, Brent Gabona pleaded guilty Wednesday to three counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation of a person with a disability. He’ll be sentenced in a Rosthern courtroom in October.
The assaults — some of which date back three decades — were reported to police last April. According to the RCMP, five adults living at the home were allegedly assaulted by a staff member between 1992 and 2009.
Gabona has not worked there since 2009, the RCMP added.
