A 33-year-old Regina man has been found not guilty of manslaughter in the death of his infant son.
Catlin Goodwill was acquitted in Regina Court of King’s Bench on Thursday, with Justice Keith Kilback delivering his verdict. Goodwill had pleaded not guilty when his trial began Feb. 6.
Goodwill was arrested Aug. 26, 2019 and charged with manslaughter in the death of Keenan Julius Spencer.
On Oct. 14, 2017, Regina police officers were sent to a hospital for a report of the death of a three-month-old boy. After a lengthy investigation by police and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, the manslaughter charge was laid against Goodwill.
