It was predictable when Sidney Crosby’s latest concussion became public.
Here come his advisors and, by advisors, I mean people who don’t actually talk to Crosby on a day-to-day basis about his health or his concussion but want to weigh in anyway.
Concussion expert Charles Tator saying if Crosby was an amateur player he’d be advised to retire.
Keith Primeau, who had his own concussion issues, saying if he could do it all over again, he’d likely hang them up sooner. Yeah, right. In the moment I’d love to see someone turn down 10’s of millions of dollars in future compensation.
But Sidney Crosby is the last player I’d be advising on what to do about concussions.
Crosby, if you don’t know, did an amazing amount of research and waited much longer than other peers before coming back from his first stint on concussions.
If there is one player I’d trust to make the right decision about his future and with a brain injury, it’s Crosby.
