A former Rider defensive end has to pay a fine in connection with an assault case.
Regina Provincial Court said Tearrius George, 34, was sentenced Thursday. He has to pay a $100 fine and won’t spend any time in jail.
George was arrested and charged near the end of April 2016 after an incident at a home on the 5600 block of Gordon Road.
A 33-year-old woman claimed there was an argument and it escalated to the point George assaulted her.
Police said the victim did not sustain any apparent injuries during the incident.
George signed with the Riders in February 2011. He announced his retirement days after his arrest in 2016.
