A workplace injury in Humboldt in 2020 has resulted in a $56,000 fine for a Saskatoon company.
Hergott Electric Ltd. pleaded guilty in Saskatoon Provincial Court on May 15 to one violation of The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. A second charge was withdrawn.
The court imposed a fine of $40,000 with a surcharge of $16,000.
According to the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, the incident happened Oct. 23, 2020. The ministry said a worker suffered serious injuries when a scissor lift drove off the ramps being used to load it onto a trailer.
