Scooters are growing in popularity as a mode of transportation, but Saskatoon police claim a 25-year-old woman found a different use for one.
According to police, the woman has been charged with assault causing bodily harm for allegedly assaulting a 71-year-old man with a scooter Wednesday night outside a downtown apartment building.
Police say it happened just after 10 p.m., in the 500 block of 24th Street East.
“Bystanders were able to safely intervene to stop the assault prior to police arrival,” the police release said.
Police said the victim was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was arrested nearby and charged.
