A man was arrested by the La Loche RCMP this week after he allegedly made online threats against a school in that community.
The Mounties said they received more than one report about the threats on Monday, and the same day, officers tracked down and arrested the man.
In an update Tuesday, the RCMP said a 20-year-old man from La Loche had been charged with one count each of uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Police said there wasn’t any risk to the school or public.
In 2016, La Loche was the site of a school shooting that left four people dead and seven others injured.
